Life Before and After IIT-JEE

Considered as one of the toughest entrance examinations of the world, IIT-JEE poses a huge challenge for the aspiring students. Most of the students pursuing IIT-JEE not only develop a particular mindset, but also, somewhat adapt themselves to a hectic schedule which usually leaves them with little scope to get involved in extracurricular activities or be socially active. From early morning breakfasts to coaching classes and from college lectures to group & self studies, all and many things (mostly related to studies) get amalgamated to define the life of a student before IIT-JEE. After IIT-JEE, the scenario however changes depending on the outcomes of the result. A student either gets selected or falls short of the desired marks required; which have their own consequences. Having a fair idea, as in what you might have to face either way, from the time you start preparing for IIT-JEE will not only help you to cope up with the situation you face afterwards, but also motivate you in your future endeavours. So, now that you have decided to enter the race for the IITs, you will have to keep certain things in mind right from the very beginning. You will mostly have to comprehend the fact that it’s not going to be easy and if you really want to get into one of the IITs, you will have to put in a lot of effort. At the same time, also acknowledge the fact that at the end of the day IIT-JEE is just an exam which will only decide your further course of actions and not decide your fate. While preparing, you have the option of either opting for coaching classes or studying on your own. The syllabus of IIT-JEE only includes topics which are taught in class 11 and 12. So being attentive in classes along with good study materials and lots of dedication and hard work should get the job done for you. However, many students prefer joining coaching classes in search of a good strategy to crack IIT-JEE. Life before IIT-JEE can be tiresome and so it is always advisable to have a good schedule and follow it sincerely giving enough time to all the subjects as well as for mental refreshment and proper rest. Too much studying without proper rest might take a toll on you and might lead to nervous breakdown, something which you might not like to face before the exam. After IIT-JEE, things usually take their own course depending on your result. In the first scenario, if you are among the lucky few who managed to secure positions in the IITs, your life is going to change drastically. From the moment you step inside the IIT campus, you will have little time to be idle and these four years are going to be the most memorable of your life considering you’re up for it. The common notion that IITs are filled will geeks and nerds is totally hyped. The amount of extracurricular activities you will get to participate in, ranging from RC Car designing to sports, music, dance, debates and so on, will provide you with a whole new perspective towards life. In the second scenario, if you are unable to crack the entrance, your life will not come to a standstill. In fact, in many cases, it has been like a blessing in disguise. From here on, you can either reappear in the IIT-JEE next year geared up with one more year of studying and get a more coveted college and branch; or you can get admitted in one of the many prestigious engineering colleges of the country. IIT-JEE is not the end of the road, its merely the beginning. Decide well, for where you go from here will eventually decide who you turn out to be.
