While appearing for IIT-JEE, students usually have the notion that cracking the exam without coaching is somewhat impossible. But this notion has gradually started to fade as many candidates are cracking the competitive exam by relying solely on their ability and following a disciplined timetable along with good course materials. Coaching classes may equip you with better strategy, but leaves little scope and time for self study which is most essential when it comes to competitive exams. So if you are appearing for IIT-JEE, there are certain things you have to keep in mind while preparing for the exam. Study Materials: First and foremost is to have good study materials. A clear concept of the syllabus along with good study materials such as online lectures, study packages, text books of all subjects, etc., are considered the stepping stone for IIT-JEE preparation. Time management is very essential and you should chalk out a good schedule beforehand and strictly adhere to it so as to ensure maximum utilisation of the available time. Class Lectures: To have a clear concept of the course content is more or less a job half done. And, without coaching classes, the best way to do that is to be attentive during school classes and making the best out of what is being taught. The entire syllabus of IIT-JEE is from the course content of 11th and 12th class. So studying properly, taking notes, attending lectures and clearing up concepts in class will only help you further in the entrance examinations. Mock Tests: Mock tests are very effective when it comes to the preparation of entrance examinations. It not only equips you with real time strategies and techniques to solve the questions in time, but also lets you figure out which are your weaker areas and need more attention.
