The shoemaker 
The narrator knew the shoemaker since his youth as his father got his boots made from him. The shoemaker made boots upon order. His boots lasted very long and fitted really well. The narrator found the trade of shoemaking fascinating. He asked Mr Gessler if it was difficult to make boots and he answered, “It is an art”.
 
His simple shop
He lived in his shop in a posh area of London…
